Since putting it on my blog makes it official

I don't usually write a post like this, but I needed to have it in writing so that you all can ask me about it and motivate me on the days that I might not want to work on this goal. I have decided to "run" in a 5K. A lot of my friends participated in a marathon on Saturday, plus on "The Biggest Loser" (one of my favorite shows these days) they ran a 5K. So I figured, why not me? I don't know when or where, but I'm determined to do it. I'll keep you posted with details later.

Way to be! My friends have been trying to convince me to run races, but I'm a little chicken. Happy training!

You can totally do this. I think you should do the Women's Fitness 5k Run/Walk http://www.secondwindrunningclub.org/WomensRace/FitnessRace.htm On September 25. Having a date gives you something to work towards. I bet you could do it in 45 to 60 mins. Here is a site with some training ideas to get you started http://walking.about.com/od/beginners/a/5ktraining.htm Good Luck!

Good for you! You are going to help motivate me b/c I am SOOO lazy. We got a Craigslist treadmill a couple months back and, yeah, I don't use it. You can totally do this. Good luck and keep us posted!

You're awesome! That will be SO fun and I SO wish we could do it together! Actually, how fun would it be to plan like a year in advance to meet somewhere and do one together! You make me want to sign up for something too!

Work through the beginning of your prep and don't miss a day if possible. Then you will not want to miss a day of training and when you finish each day, it will feel SO GOOD! (Mentally as well as physically). Many people quit before they feel the great results of their daily workout!

Good for you--I'm trying to decide a race to do soon too! Too bad we're not just a little closer!

All right Kristin!

Perhaps Will can help you by cheering you around the practice track. I"m sure you can do it, Honey. Proud of you for making this goal.
